Carian trail

Group meeting at 10 am at the bus station of the resort town of Marmaris. There we buy more food, repack our backpacks and around noon we take a minibus to the village of Tashludzha, where the hike will begin. Today we will walk quite a bit - we will move a little away from the village and set up camp on the shore of the lake.

We walk along the uninhabited southwestern tip of the Bozburun Peninsula. There is almost no one here except us. Well, maybe shepherds, goats and yachtsmen :) The latter swim here to park for the night in secluded bays. We are heading towards one of them today. Along the way we will see the ruins of the ancient city of Phoenix. We spend the night in tents on the shores of the Aegean Sea.

Our bay was the last point where there is at least some kind of road (dirt road). Further infrastructure there are only trails and the sea. We'll try to walk)). Our goal is the southern tip of Bozburun, or rather Bozukkale Bay. Not far from our camp there are ruins of a fortress (also Bozukkale), but we will go there tomorrow.

Today we have a day's rest - the tents remain in the bay, and we have the opportunity to walk a little lightly. You can explore the ruins of the fortress and admire the view of the massive figure of the Greek island of Rhodes on the horizon. You can just lie on the beach. Well, for the most active ones there will be a walk to the very edge of Cape Bozburun to the ruins of ancient Karamaki. There are several interesting temples more or less preserved there, and in general - the end of the earth))

We have explored one end of the earth, we can move on to the next. We pack up camp and head back to the East. To make it more interesting, for the way back we will choose a new path along the northern side of the cape. We take a small pass (from it you can see Rhodes again) and go down for the night to the next bay.

We again pass through the village of Tashludzha (from where we started 5 days ago). We go to the store and to the market to slightly replenish our supplies. Now shops will be found more often)) A little heavier, we leave civilization and go down to the coast. We set up camp in the large Sogyutkoyu bay.

At first we walk straight along the shore. We pass the village of Sogyut and begin to climb a powerful (by the standards of the Carian Trail) ridge. In fact, it is no more than 200 meters high, i.e. absolutely nothing for a real tourist who seeks to reunite with the sea))
Beyond the pass, we will be heading to the village of Bozburun, famous for its shipyards. A huge number of yachts, excursion boats and other watercraft are built and repaired here. We watch a little how others are working, check if they brought anything tasty to the store and go outside the village to spend the night on a terraced slope. Yes, we don’t have a bay today!

We leave the sea for half a day. You need to cross the Kepez Dagi ridge in order to safely reach the shore again in the area of ​​Delikliyol Koyu Bay. In the middle of this bay there is an island with a tiny fortress. There are some other defensive structures right on the shore. We pass through all this and the village of Selimiye to boot. We go deeper inland to set up camp among the ancient ruins behind the village of Kizilka.

We continue to move away from the coastal bustle. Before lunch, it would be nice for us to take the pass (not too high, but relatively steep) in order to eventually descend to the village of Bayir. We will not stop there and will climb up again. Behind the next pass is the main attraction of today - a cascade of beautiful waterfalls. They are hiding in a protected forest (i.e. you cannot put tents near waterfalls). So we will go a little further and camp for the night outside the security zone.

The last day of hiking along the Carian Trail. In just an hour and a half we go down to the village of Turgut, take a minibus and in another hour we will be in Marmaris. It will be somewhere around 13:00. The hike is over. You can rent an apartment and stay for a couple more days by the sea or immediately go to the airport. Let me remind you that getting to Dalaman can take from one and a half to two hours. So, in order not to take risks, you need evening flights (not earlier than 19:00).
