Personal first aid kit

Each participant in the hike should have an individual first aid kit. Store in an easily accessible place.

An individual first aid kit should include:

  • Individual dressing bag or sterile bandage – 1 pc.
  • Non-sterile bandage – 1 pc.
  • Bactericidal patch – 10-15 pcs.
  • Iodine or brilliant green – 1 bottle.
  • Analgin tablets – 1 package.
  • Activated carbon – 1-2 packs.
  • Your favorite cold remedy (Coldrex, Effect, etc.)

There should also be medications that you can take for one reason or another while traveling. For example, if hypothermia may cause herpes, then the first aid kit should contain Zovirax or Acyclovir ointments; or if there is a tendency to constipation, then laxatives.

Before starting your trip, you must inform your group leader about any illnesses you have suffered. This will allow you to adjust the group first aid kit, and in general, be more alert regarding a possible exacerbation.

Take this extremely seriously, because in camping conditions illnesses that in your usual home environment have not bothered you for a long time may worsen (or, conversely, while camping you won’t even remember them). These are, first of all, allergic diseases (bronchial asthma, eczema, allergic rhinitis and the like), diseases of the cardiovascular system (hypertension, angina), cholelithiasis, kidney and urinary system diseases (pyelonephritis, cystitis, prostatitis), gastritis, peptic ulcer and others.

Check whether you have medical contraindications to participate in hikes.
