The stars have fallen and lie

Yesterday, according to astronomers, was the peak of Perseid activity - to put it simply, a massive meteor shower was expected. In connection with this, after dinner we crawled out onto the grass in front of the grotto (our overnight stay). The people lay down on the mats waiting for a miracle. We didn’t have to wait long - the first star fell from the sky to our friendly hooting. Behind her stretched a long luminous train. Then a whole bunch of meteorites rained down on our heads, which looked more like fireworks than a meteor shower. The fact is that the stars did not fall in parallel, as one would expect, but scattered in different directions. Such miracles, by definition, cannot last long, as evidence of which the sky began to become cloudy. It was time to go to bed.
