Really big canyon
🗓 2007-08-03
They say that it is good where we are not. Often this manifests itself in a disdainful attitude towards all sorts of attractions of the native land. So, when I came with foreigners to the Grand Canyon of Crimea, I involuntarily began to make excuses. Like, it’s not that big, and there are a lot of people, and this and that.
Telling all this, I took them deeper into the depths of the canyon (we decided to walk along the bottom). And to my sincere surprise, I began to notice delight and sincere interest in the eyes of my foreign friends. Climbing along stone sides and crossing logs clearly gave them a lot of pleasure, despite the fact that these obstacles could not be called easy. They sincerely admired
the beauty of nature in this gorge. The guys had visited many canyons before (including the Grand Canyon in the USA), they had something to compare with.
Being a little dumbfounded by all this, I myself began to take a closer look at the usual views of the canyon, peer into the play of light on the surface of the water and look for places for a good shot.
And I must say, not without success - during 3 hours of canyoning, I picked up so many impressions that after lunch I was forced to take a nap. It was a fitting end to a successful day spent at the bottom of the truly Grand Canyon.
