Day by dayItinerary
4 Day 4. Mount Rainier (4392 m)
Early in the morning we go to the highest peak of the Cascade Mountains - Mount Rainier (4392 m). We look at it from different angles, make short but stunningly beautiful tracks: Sunrise Point, Paradise Trail. In the evening we make a dash towards the Columbia River Canyon - we drive through a nature reserve located between two volcanoes: Mount Adams and Mount St. Helens. We spend the night at a campsite along the way.
5 Day 5. Columbia River Canyon, Mount Hood, Smith Rock, colored mountains
A very long day. We cross the Columbia River Canyon and see it from one of the short tracks: Dog Mountain Trail or Mosier Cape. We approach the Mount Hood volcano (3426 m) and look at the Tamanawas Falls. Then a big drive to the rocks of Smith Rock State Park. We walk above the river along the Canyon Trail. Late in the evening we arrive at the colorful Painted Hills. Camping.
6 Day 6. Painted Hills, MacKenzie Lava Fields, Three Sisters, Clear Lake
Another long day. In the morning we finally walk through the colorful Painted Hills and drive west along the old McKenzie Highway (route 242). This mountain road (closed most of the year) goes through crazy lava fields stretching between the mountain ranges of Mount Washington Peak and Three Sisters Volcano. We make a trip to the Dee Wright Observatory and Lake Scott. Then we move to a different type of lake - Clear Lake is famous for its cold, clear water through which trees that sank hundreds (or even thousands) of years ago are picturesquely visible. In the evening we move closer to the next hit - Crater Lake.
7 Day 7. Crater Lake, Rogue River
As you may have guessed, Crater Lake is a large lake in the crater of a volcano. We drive right along the edge of the crater and see the lake from different sides. Then we move down along the unusual Rogue River. It used lava tunnels as a channel and generally meanders through the rocks very picturesquely. By evening we try to get to the Oregon Caves National Monument.
8 Day 8. Caves, Redwood, Pacific Ocean
We look at the Oregon Caves and move on. We briefly find ourselves in California - we walk among the giant redwoods in Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park. These are the same trees that are like sequoias, only even taller. After this, a new stage of the journey begins - we will devote the next few days to the Pacific coast of Oregon. We will drive along the coast along the Oregon Coast Highway and see local wonders - rocks, lighthouses, bays. Swimming here is not very convenient because of the waves, but we will figure something out. Today we are waiting for: Whaleshead Viewpoint, Indian Sands Trail, Arch Rock, Cape Sebastian Trail, Blacklock Point
10 Day 10. Cannon Beach, Portland
We finish our voyage along the Pacific beaches - we see Cascade Head, Cape Kiwanda, Cape Meares and of course the famous Cannon Beach. After that, we turn deeper into the continent and go to Portland, the largest city (but not the capital) of Oregon. We walk along the evening embankment of Waterfront Park and Esplanade Eastbank.
11 Day 11. Olympic National Park, Quinault Rain Forest
13 Day 13. Port Angeles, whales, Seattle
Sea excursions for whales and killer whales depart from Port Angeles (from $110 for 4 hours). But most likely we'll just go to Seattle and wander around the shops or "see" something. The tour of the Northwestern United States is over, you can fly home.

Trip conditions
Transport - we rent a car or a minibus. If there are several cars, you will need additional drivers in addition to the guide. In any case, take your driver's license if you have one (just in case).
Accommodations - tents and hotels. We will live in tents in national parks and near the ocean, and in hotels only in large cities (Seattle, Portland) or when we really want to take a shower. You must take your own tents and sleeping bags. We will put them in equipped campsites where there is a toilet, fireplace, benches, and sometimes a hot shower. We will look for hotels or private apartments locally based on the current situation (finances, weather, mood).
Meals - individual and collective (optional). We go to stores every day, everyone buys what they see fit. At the same time, it is possible and necessary to unite according to tastes (to reduce the cost and not only). At campsites we cook on a burner that the leader will have. Apartments will often have a kitchen. In cities you can go to restaurants, but don't count on it too much because... there will be little time.
Tempo - we're crazy. We will get up early, go to bed late, go somewhere all day, watch something, try to see more. When going on a trip with us, you must understand and accept this feature.Booking
