Day by dayItinerary
1 Day 1. Transfer to Chile, Torres del Paine National Park, W-track.
We say goodbye to the excursion group and take a bus ($80) to Chile, to Torres del Paine National Park. The drive takes from 4 to 6 hours, a significant some of which we will stand on the Argentina-Chile border. Remember that import In Chile, any vegetables, fruits and many other products are prohibited.
Having reached the entrance to the national park, we buy passes ($30), we listen to the rules of conduct in the reserve and take a bus to shore of Lake Pehoe to the pier at Cafeteria Pudeto. From here it goes in the evening catamaran ($40, 18:00-18:35) to the other side of the lake, to the Paine campsite Grande, where our track will begin. Most likely we will still have time before sailing and you can go to the radial to the Mirador Cuernos lookout, look at the famous horn rocks against the backdrop of Lake Nordenskjold (Nordenskiöld), named after the Swedish polar explorer who explored these region at the beginning of the 20th century.
Having crossed Lake Peoe by ferry, we set up tents in a comfortable Paine Grande Campground ($10). There is a hot shower (queues!), a toilet, an outlet (during the day only), a dining room and a shop. Mobile connection does not work, Wifi is weak and expensive. In the evening, you can take an additional walk to Mirador Pehoe lookout along the shore of the already familiar lake.

2 Day 2. French Valley, Paine Grande (3050 m), Los Cuernos
If you look at the map, the route that you and I are going to take in the Chilean Andes resembles the shape of the letter W. We start from the base of the left "leg" and today we must rise to the top point in the middle of the W and go down to the bottom again. We get up very early and immediately assemble the camp. We'll have breakfast later, when the kitchen opens. For the first 2-3 hours we walk along the shore of Lake Scottsburg. Leave the heavy ones backpacks in the Italian camp and lightly (with raincoats) we begin to climb French Valley. In about 3 hours we will gain 750 meters of altitude and We will reach the Mirador Britanico observation deck. From the upper reaches of the French valley overlooking the Paine Grande cliffs (3050 m) and the rock wall formed by the peaks of Hoja, Máscara, Espada ending with the already familiar us with a stone horn Cuerno del Norte. We return to the Italian camp, we have lunch at the backpacks. We go down to Lake Nordenskiöld and walk along the shore to camping "French camp", where we will spend the night.

3 Day 3. Lake Nordenskiöld, Chileno shelter
Today we are approaching the right leg of the letter W. We spend most of the day (5 hours) walking along the shores of Lake Nordenskiöld smoothly gaining height from the water level to 450 meters. This is how we find ourselves in the Valle Ascencio valley. Another hour and a half up and we are at the Chileno campsite. Tomorrow we’re going to see the sunrise, so we’re going to bed early.

4 Day 4. Dawn over Torres del Paine, El Calafate
We have to climb the right leg of the letter W to the most popular observation point in Torres del Paine Park. To meet the dawn at the foot of the rocks of the same name (Torres del Paine, 2850 m), we get up in the dark, quickly “refuel” with tea and, leaving the tents in the camp, begin to climb the Valle Ascencio. The journey up will take 2-3 hours. As a result, we will find ourselves at an altitude of about 900 meters on the shore of Lake Torres. Now we need to wait for dawn and not freeze in one of the most beautiful places in the Chilean Andes. Therefore, it is important not to rush or sweat during the climb, and when arriving at the lake, immediately put on a powder coat.
Having met the dawn, we return to the Chileno camp, pack up our tents and have breakfast. Then we descend for another couple of hours to the Las Torres shelter at the foot of our mountain range. There we say goodbye to the incredible Torres del Paine park and take the bus to El Calafate. Again the Chilean-Argentine border awaits us and 6 hours on the road.
We check into a hostel and use the evening in civilization to wash ourselves, do laundry, and charge our equipment.

The campsites are free and without the same amenities as in Torres del Paine. We leave El Chaltén and begin the ascent - first we go through the forest to Lake Capri (6 km, altitude 753 m) and further up to the Poincenot camping (altitude 741 m), where we will put up tents in a real birch grove.

11 Day 11. and 12. Excursions around Easter Island
We rent a car or minibus (the instructor is driving) and drive around all over the island. We look at stone moai idols, an overgrown volcano, ocean bays and palm groves. The island is only 20 km across, in two days we We’ll have time to drive around it up and down several times. At sunset at Ahu Tahai, in general, you can drive every day, but you can’t go to the beach in Anakena Bay either We'll stop by once. The most important thing, of course

We fly from Santiago to Punta Arenas (06:05 - 9:30, $31). This town is considered the capital of Chilean Patagonia and here for the first time we will feel that this is the Patagonian climate - the wind pierces to the bones, a lot icy wind (although the air temperature is +10). Luckily here in the Zona shopping center Franca has good equipment stores and, if necessary, you can buy additional warm clothes. And in the afternoon, if there is no sea stormy, then you can swim to the giant colony of penguins on the island Magdalena (2 hours there, 1 hour walk, 2 hours back, $50).

Today we have a long bus ride from Chile to Argentina. (8:30-20:30). We are crossing the Strait of Magellan on a ferry (the same which yesterday we swam to the penguins) and find ourselves on the Fiery archipelago earth. The route jumps over to the east coast and a significant part of On our way we drive through endless wastelands near the Atlantic Ocean. The dull desert was replaced by mountains, glaciers and picturesque bays. Today We are going on a whole day trek through the Tierra del Fuego (Fiery) National Park Earth). Here is almost the official edge of the earth - the southernmost postal separation of the planet and the southern end of the Pan-American Highway (the northern one is somewhere at Alaska). There is also an unusual forest, beautiful mountains (one of which we let's try to climb) and Lago Roca lake.
17 Day 17. Ushuaia, Martial Glacier, Penguin Island
In the morning we will go for a walk to the Martial Glacier (5 km one way, 700 m elevation gain) in the mountains towering above the city. A after returning to Ushuaia you can take a catamaran to the island penguins or sea lion island ($60 to $120).

And those who don’t want to go to the mountains have a flight to Buenos Aires this evening (16:45 - 19:40 or 20:00 - 22:55, $112). Until then, you can kill time going by boat to yesterday's glacier (from 50 to 150 dollars).
20 Day 20. Buenos Aires
You can fly home or stay another day and take a walk around Buenos Aires
Part 2. Trekking in Patagonia
Tour conditions
- Accommodation: in tents at campsites (from 0 to $20 per person per night) and in hostels (about $15 per person per night). B Some campsites have hot showers, all have toilets.
- Meals: shared, in traveling mode, included in the price registration fee.
- Weather: temperature from +15 to -3, wind up to 100 km/h, frequent rains.
- Difficulty level: high (primarily due to the weather).
Budget
All amounts indicated below are very approximate, given are here for reference only and do not constitute a commercial offer.
Trekking budget after the excursion
These amounts are calculated for the case when the tourist stayed for trekking after the excursion program, and did not fly purely to the track.
- Transport - $372 This includes: 1 flight ($112, from Patagonia to Buenos Aires), 4 bus transfers between national parks in Patagonia ($220), 1 trip on a catamaran in Torres del Paine Park ($40). Not taken into account: taxi to the airport, public transport in Buenos Aires. excursions.
- Accommodation - $151. This includes: paid campsites in Chile, hostel in El Calafate, hotel in Buenos Aires
- Meals - from $0 . Basic meals are included in the registration fee, with If you wish, you will be able to purchase snacks yourself in stores and canteens of Chilean tourist shelters.
- Attractions - $30 Included here: entrance to Torres National Park del Paine
- Organization fee - $380 (for a group of 3 people or more).
- Total amount - from $933. In fact, the amount will be another 112 less dollars, because flight from Patagonia to Buenos Aires we have already "counted" in the excursion budget
Trekking budget without excursion
If you only want to join the trekking part of the trip, do not When taking part in an excursion, then you need to add to the budget calculated above add $940 for flights to Argentina and back, plus $112 for flights from Bayresa in El Calafate. In this case, the total budget will be 933+940+112=1985 dollars. Plus a couple hundred just in case.
Trekking budget with partial excursion
Let me remind you that programs can be split up. For example, if you are interested purely Patagonia, then it would be logical to join the group back in Ushuaia (fly there from Buenos Aires for $186) and then watch Fiery together Land and go trekking. In this case, in addition to the expenses for the Fiery the land must also be added to a proportional share of the registration fee for the excursion tour for 3 days (approximately $280). In total it will be 1985+186+280+100+100+181+40+63=2935 dollars.
Total budget for the full tour "trekking + excursion"
Let's assume that the average budget for the excursion part will be $4000. And the trekking budget, as we calculated above, is about $933. If participate in both parts of the program, then the total budget will be $4000+$933-$112=$4821.
On any trip, expenses tend to exceed initial estimates, therefore, for complete peace of mind, you need some reserve of money (I think at least 500) above this amount.
