This report is about the tour: Hoverla Ascent
This was my first camping experience; before that I hadn’t really slept in tents, a couple of times at most. My friend and I joined the group. Personally, I felt a little uneasy, because... I didn’t understand whether it would be hard, cold or hot, etc. The prospect of being in the rain was especially frightening. As a result, not one of my fears was confirmed.
All three days we spent on the hike, the weather was excellent, carrying the backpack was not as heavy as one might expect, and the time while walking was diluted with conversations and wonderful landscapes. There were a lot of stops and it was difficult to get tired. Of course, there were places where you had to strain yourself, but there weren’t many such places (sharp ascents and descents). In the evening it was cool to sit by the fire and chat; I also managed to be a cook, because... Everyone was responsible for preparing food in turns, split into pairs.
One big negative regarding food was that I personally (and my friend) often left hungry. What was written in the guides for this hike, that you don’t need to take food with you, is an obvious exaggeration; I really regretted that I didn’t take at least 4-5 Snickers with me. Perhaps this was calculated so as not to waste too much, I can’t say, but the guys with experience who took some kind of meat with them (a small piece, either dried or dried, which did not spoil) were held in high esteem.
By and large, it was a very interesting experience, after the city, to find ourselves literally the next day in the mountains. I'm very glad I went and will definitely go again. I would like to note that, as a person who is not very prepared, 3 days of hiking was enough for me (you could stay with the group and go for 6 days).
During the hike, I acquired new acquaintances as well as new skills from the instructor, had a great time, felt unity with nature, looked at some very cool landscapes, saw a lot of different animals and also had the opportunity to communicate a little with the local population.
As a result, I can say that the hike was superb. Next time, I'll take a few snacks with me and stock up on extras. I’ll have a light snack, put on non-killable shoes, I won’t take an e-book with me, but I won’t forget to take a flashlight, a spoon with a plate and a cup. I also already bought myself a power bank to keep my phone working, because... it is in great demand as a camera. I will also try not to get burned. Good luck to everyone, thanks to the organizers of the trip.
