The monument of architecture - medieval armenian cloister Surb-Khach (1358) - is located in picturesque location in 4 kilometers from city Stary Krym, one of oldest on peninsula. In Solkhat (Stary Krym) in XIV-XV centuries four armenian cloisters and ten of churches were. By them the schools, workshops were opened, the manuscripts were created. Cloister in adjacent Cafa (Feodosia), for example, was recorded the history of armenians - origins from city Ani. The unique manuscript books, created in Solkhat, are stored in institute of ancient manuscripts Matendaran (Yerevan).
