The territory of the cemetery was divided into sections according to a kind of troops, and common graves were divided according to regiments and independent units. They buried here those who were killed on Sevastopol bulwarks and those who were killed in actions near Sevastopol. There are also the graves of those who died after the war. Besides large common graves there are many separate burial places with monuments. Among them one could distinguish the monument of generak Khruliov (to the left of the gate), of general Totleben? and of genegal Gorchakov who was Commander-in-Chief of Crimean Army.
Over the necropolis rises Fraternal cemetery temple which is a pyramidal formed church of St.Nicolas. It was built in 1870 as a memorial dedicated to all heroes of Sevastopol defence who lie here in this land.
