It is a nature monument (1968), a nature reserve (1980) on the plateau of Tarhankut peninsula, near Krasnoselskoe village. There is no normal top-soil at that place of the peninsula. The lime stone boulders and slabs go directly out the surface. Drought-resistant steppe vegetation predominates there: tipchak, thyme, feather-grass. That steppe lot can be taken as standard, which defines the role of plants in soil-formation of stony steppe conditions.
