Karst caves of Yalta

They are the monuments of nature since 1969, Stavri-kaya, Basman-3, Basman-5, Basman-7, Iograph caves. Stavri-kaya cave (100/10m) is decorated with gypseous crystals; Basman-3 (27m), Basman-5 (62/25m) and Basman-7 (52m) are decorated with interesting accumulating formations, in which ancient sanctuaries were placed.

In 1947 Iograph cave with adjoining lot of Yalta mountain pasture was announced the monument of nature. Accumulating wall draperies, stalactites and stalagmites are added with reservoirs, in which cave pearls were found. The cave church was situated in that karst cavity in VIII-IX centuries.
