Since 1972, sea areas by Cape Lukul (Sevastopol), along the shores of Atlesh (Tarkhankut), at the Dzhangulsky landslipped coastline (Tarkhankut), by the shores of Bakalskaya spit and Lake Bakal (Razdolnensky district), at the Azov coast of Arabatskaya Strelka (Leninsky district) have been taken under preservation.
