Karst caves of Ai-Petri

They were announced the monuments of nature and taken under guarding in 1969. The G.A.Maximovich Kristalnaya cave-pit, Visyachaya, Medovaya, Zhemchuzhnaya, Mishorskaya, Kamnepadnaya, Syundyurlyu, Druzhba, Geofizicheskaya, Kaskadnaya. The Kristalnaya cave-pit (110/113m) was named by famous scientist of karst Maximovich. The inclined underground hall begins on 22d metre depth, the length of which is 75m and the hight is 23m. At the bottom there is a huge heap of boulders in dozens metres! Cave lion's bones were found in the pit.

Visyachaya cave (401/15m) is a two-storyed cavity with beautiful accumulatings and Medovaya cave (250/60m) is preserved part of ancient karst system.

Zhemchuzhnaya (35m) is an ancient cave-source in precipice; Mishorskaya (101/40) is an ancient cave-source with larde hall and a great number of minerals; Kamnepadnaya (25/105m); Syundyurlyu (175/35m) is a cave with a heap of boulders, two lakes and medieval sanctuary. The origin of the cave has not discovered yet.

The pits: Druzhba (40/45m) is linked with Medovaya cave; Geofizicheskaya (140/80) is an ancient cavity with several inside wells and accumulatings; Kaskadnaya (415/100m) is a very ancient carst cavity, in which in 1975-1979 the speleologists found the extensions, leading to the karst system with large halls of 25-30 metres of height.
