Mountain Kastel

Large, rolled smooth boulders edge the foot of the mountain, like necklace. Here and there, interesting minerals, sparkling in the sun (calcite, pyrite), come across among the blocks of stone, beautiful figures of wind erosion. It is not mere chance that this place has been long attracting geologists and geographers. Coastal Kastel mountainsides are covered by dence evergreen bushes of butcher's boom, rock rose and jasmine. The unique habitats of relic plants - small-fruited strawberry-tree (the most northern population in the world), juniper, fern of thin-leaves - help to perceive the history of the mountain Crimea flora formation more profoundly.
