Meeting in Simferopol at 9 am. Transfer to the village of Krasnokamenka (Kizil-Tash). From here, past the famous Red Stone rock, we will begin our climb along the southern slope of the Babugan plateau. We have to gain almost 1000 meters of altitude, so we don’t have a minute to lose. By evening, the forest path will lead us to a convenient clearing near the Gurzuf Saddle pass. It is already quite high here, cold and at the same time not too windy. Plus a view of Bear Mountain and Artek. An excellent place to spend the night and acclimatize before the winter ascent to windswept Roman-Kosh.

  In the morning, after having a hearty breakfast and filling a thermos with hot tea, we will set off to conquer the peak of Crimea. To make it easier to go, we will hide tents, sleeping bags and kitchen utensils in the forest not far from the place where we will spend the night. We only take warm clothes with us in case the weather worsens. To get to Roman-Kosh you need to gain another 300 meters of altitude and cross the plateau from South to North. The entire path to the top does not exceed 3 kilometers, but walking quickly through deep snow is not so easy. But having reached the goal, we will be rewarded with an incredible view of the expanses of the Crimean Nature Reserve. You can admire it endlessly, but it’s too cold. This is where extra jackets and hot tea will come in handy.

It's time for us to return. Along the way, we'll pick up hidden equipment and go down! Down to the coast along the already familiar forest path. From Krasnokamenka to Simferopol it is only two hours drive. There our winter adventure will end.
