Weather, Crimea, May - this is not a slogan at the May demonstration, this is an urgent question for everyone who is going to Crimea for the May holidays. As you know, according to a long-standing tradition, at the beginning of May, huge masses of tourists and simply lovers of outdoor recreation go to Crimea to welcome spring. It is not surprising that in addition to the question of tickets to Crimea, they are also interested in the weather. More precisely, the weather forecast.
Our forecast
Forecasters are working hard to compile zodiac weather horoscopes, trying to guess its whims in the new season. You can check out their short-term forecast for Crimea. We will also try to predict something:
- During the day +20
- At night +5
- Rain - twice 2 hours per week
Most likely this will happen, but we cannot know this for sure, which means we need to prepare for the worst case scenario. I have been going to the mountains for May for many years in a row, and the worst weather conditions occurred two years ago. Then the very first night on the mountain greeted us with a ringing zero. And in the morning a light powder of snow fell from the sky. The next night a hurricane wind arose, which blew away the clouds, and we climbed the next hill in T-shirts, basking in the rays of the southern sun.
What to do.
I deliberately exaggerate the colors so that you will be a little concerned and take your choice of clothes more seriously. Too often people find themselves in the mountains with nothing more than a denim jacket and a Panama hat. They are going to Crimea!
What to do? Just bring the waterproof jackets, warm sweaters, hats, fleece gloves and warm sleeping bags mentioned in the equipment list. For your backpack, prepare a waterproof case or pack all your things in sealed bags. And when you have all this in your backpack, the weather will have every reason to behave well and turn on the sun to the fullest.
Water temperature.
I almost forgot - many people ask if it’s possible to swim in May? You can swim. In that very “cold year” we opened the swimming season on March 8th. True, the swims lasted no more than a few minutes - the water in the sea was no warmer than 12 degrees. It won't be much warmer in May either. So water treatments are only suitable for walruses. By the way, as it turned out, there are quite a few walruses among the tourists - when in January 2009 we approached the Dzhur-Dzhur waterfall, almost half of the group suddenly put on swimsuits and rushed under its icy streams.
