From January 3 to January 8, 2012 (this is the Christmas weekend) there will be a winter hiking trip through the mountainous Crimea. The hike program includes: Valley of Ghosts, Demerdzhi Plateau, MAN Cave. Join us, there are still 3 spots available.
Cost of participation in the hike: 60 dollars per person. This includes: three meals a day, tent rental, instructor services.
According to the weather forecast, frosts are expected. Therefore, several alternate route options along lower and “warmer” peaks are being considered. For example, you can go to the cave cities (Mangup, Sholdan, Eski-Kermen). Live in caves and pretend to be the Ice Age.
If frosts don’t bother you, let’s take this route:
Day 1 - meeting of the group in Simferopol, Angarsk pass, Mount Phal-Kaya, Polyana MAN, overnight with a view of the sea and Alushta.
Day 2 - MAN cave, North Demerdzhi plateau, South Demerdzhi plateau, overnight at the Dzhurla waterfall,
Day 3 - Valley of Ghosts, descent to Alushta, return to Simferopol.
The program is very gentle: there are few kilometers, but there are a huge number of beautiful views.
Also in 3 days you can see: the Grand Canyon and Ai-Petri, or the Chatyr-Dag caves, or Balaklava and Cape Aya with Laspi. The choice of route is ours.
Here is a short list of necessary equipment: a hiking mat, a winter sleeping bag, an 80-liter backpack, reliable shoes, a windbreaker jacket, a warm
winter jacket. There is also a more detailed article about travel equipment.
