This report is about the tour: Wild Gorgany
In July 2007, I took part in the “Wild Gorgans” hike in the Carpathians and brought back a lot of new impressions from my trip.
From the tops of the mountains, stunning landscapes open up: the blue peaks of distant mountains on the horizon, the gray-green wooded slopes of the nearest mountains with dark green spots of thickets of creeping pine and light gray patches of piles of stones, valleys between the mountains with golden-green grass, and above all this - a piercing blue sky with patches of blinding white clouds.
The Carpathian nature is amazing: spruce and beech forests, thickets of creeping pine and juniper, thick grasses in open areas, clear streams and springs, mountain streams running down the rocks - an unforgettable experience (especially for a resident of a big city, accustomed to sitting in a stone bag in front of a luminous box or buried in a pile of papers called newspapers).
I was also very lucky with the company - it was small, but cramped. Although there was some age difference between the group members, it did not interfere with communication: the absence of factors separating age categories and a common interest - active recreation - erased this difference. There were funny jokes, interesting stories and songs.
Among other things, there were many interesting surprises and discoveries: partisan caches, border posts, some ruins and the like - it’s impossible to list and tell everything.
It should also be noted that a backpacking trip is just romance. If you are a pragmatist and a homebody - that’s what you need - sit at home on the couch and stare at the TV. But if the spark of romance has not yet died out in your soul, then this vacation is exactly what you need to take your mind off the boring and exhausting workdays.
