I was reviewing “Poisons, or the World History of Poisoning” by Shakhnazarov... It was gratifying to recognize familiar - especially personally well-trodden - Crimean landscapes.
View of Chatyr-Dag from the Valley of Ghosts. This is how we saw him in the evening on the second day of the campaign in the summer of 2005.
And here it actually is - the Valley of Ghosts on South Demerdzhi. By the way, they (ghosts) are visible in the picture. And this is not a guy in armor at all, but stone pillars in the background. The place is very popular among filmmakers. “Prisoner of the Caucasus”, “Sportloto-82”, “Hearts of Three” and many more “mountain” films were filmed here.
The main gate of the cave city of Chufut-Kale. Usually they are closed, and excursions are conducted through the so-called “secret gate”. We passed here already in 2006, as part of the trip through the cave cities of Crimea.
And this is actually the main street of Chufut-Kale. The stone road with a broken track and the arch are quite real, but the trees in the background look like they are fake.
This is most likely the Belbek valley, although there may also be a valley near Eski-Kermen.
This is what a movie is like :)
