Extreme Marathon X-Crimea 2006

From October 6 to October 8, 2006, the next adventure race of the X-CRIMEA series will take place in Crimea. This year the extreme marathon will consist of three routes – L, M and X-class distances (at the participants’ choice). Distances are tourist travel routes consisting of stages that include elements of a cross-country cycling route (for X-class), hiking, mountain, speleo, water tourism, mountaineering and rock climbing, orienteering according to a map and legend, satellite navigation in extreme conditions (at night, in conditions of limited visibility, high humidity, low temperature, etc.) that must be overcome in a certain time. Brief characteristics of the routes: linear routes with spaced start and finish and circular routes with start and finish at one point, laid in the central and southwestern part of the mountain-forest zone of Crimea.
L-class: Total length of the distance ~ 50 km*, control time - 24 hours, leader time - 20 hours, elevation difference at a distance of up to 500 m, number of special stages at a distance - 7-9, number of people in a team - 2 (of any gender). The requirement for participants is the ability to work with a map and compass, know what a carbine and rope are, and guess what awaits them...
M-class: Total length of the distance ~ 110 km*, control time - 40 hours, leader's time - 35 hours, elevation difference at a distance of up to 1000 m, number of special stages at a distance - 9-12, number of people in a team - 3 (of any gender). Requirements for participants are the ability to work with a map and compass, know what a carabiner and rope are, know what awaits them... Experience in participating in multi-sport races is desirable.
X-class: Total length of the distance ~ 260 km* (with a bicycle - 230 km, on foot ~ 30 km), control time - 40 hours, leader's time - 35 hours, elevation difference at a distance of up to 1300 m, number of special stages at a distance - 9-12, number of people in a team - 4 (of any gender). Requirements for participants: experience in multisport racing.
