Equipment rental locations in Moscow
At which rental point in Moscow can you rent camping equipment (tent, sleeping bag), etc.? In this research, I tried to find a rental store that offers a large selection of different goods for rent at low prices. I looked through about 30-40 companies, but it turned out that there were very few interesting rental points. A typical situation is a very small selection and an old assortment (Soviet tents). Some companies have either closed or are closing. Finally, in the study I examined the following rental points: “Prokat.ru”, “Rental on Caucasus”, “Prokat-Link”, “MOL”, “M-Ekran”, “GUP Royal”, “Tourist equipment rental base at Moscow State University”. Most of all I liked the company "Prokat.ru". The prices here are not the lowest, but there is a very good selection. Other rental stores offer an order of magnitude smaller range of items for rent, so I can’t possibly place them in first place. It seems to me that scale is important for this business. Only a fairly large and advanced company can now successfully work in the rental industry (due to the widespread use of loans and more). In general, Prokat.ru gives the full impression of the most advanced rental company in Moscow. They have a very nice website. So, look in more detail at the information that I managed to collect:
- "Prokat.ru" (m. Avtozavodskaya, Masterkova St., 3, shopping center "1000 things", pav No. 99, tel. 232-0233, opening hours: Mon-Sat 10:00-20:00, Sun 10:00-19:00)
As I already said, Prokat.ru offers a wide selection of rental goods: tools, camping equipment (tents), household appliances, audio-video and other digital goods, children's goods and more. On the website you can see a detailed catalog with prices.
- "Rental on Kavkazsky" (metro station Kantemirovskaya, Kavkazsky Blvd., 35/2, building 1, tel. 321-0756)
There was only camping equipment here. - "Prokat-Link" (metro station Konkovo, Profsoyuznaya st., 113, building 1, tel. 420-1511)
There is camping equipment (tents, sleeping bags), household appliances, etc. The selection, as I understand it, is small, at least for tents. - "M-Ekran" (metro station Babushkinskaya, Yaroslavskoye sh., 117, tel. 183-6001)
The prices are low, but either there is very little choice or there is none at all. There are no digital goods. Not impressive.
- "MOL" (metro Oktyabrskoye Pole, Marshal Tukhachevsky St., 22, building 3, tel. 197-9944)
Soviet tents. Sleeping bags (old). There are also other products, but I don’t know how wide the selection is.
- "Tourist equipment rental base at Moscow State University" (metro University, Lomonosovsky Prospekt, 31, building 7, tel. 143-1796, opening hours: Mon-Fri 10:00-17:00)
Obviously, you can only find camping gear here. Soviet era tents with poles and pegs. There are sleeping bags, bowlers, etc. Although all this is not the first freshness, there is apparently a large selection. Remains of former luxury. And cheap enough.
- "GUP Royal" (metro station Izmailovskaya, 5th Parkovaya St., 10, tel. 367-7809)
This is for dessert. It is clear that it is difficult to find tents here, but you can rent a piano.
