Review of events in the Himalayas

🗓 2006-05-30

Manaslu. 43-year-old Sue Fear (Sue Fear), an Australian climber who climbed with a Japanese team that included 67-year-old Junko Tabei, the first woman to set foot on the summit of Everest on May 16 1975, officially declared dead.

Everest. For Australians, the Himalayan spring 2006 was not the most successful.
Just two days ago, Lincoln Hall descended into ABC with the help of rescuers after being mistaken for dead and left without oxygen for 12 hours in the "dead zone" at 8700m, on the second stage of Everest's north ridge.

At Manaslu Sue climbed the classics. She and her companions fell into a crack. Everyone except Sue survived.
