Joann Zlatoust's temple and its belfry were erected in 1832-1837 in Yalta according to the project of the architect from Odessa Gelogi Torichelli. Except its direct purpose, the belfry which was standing on the high hill, was used by sailors as a reference-point. In the 80s of the last century it was put down to the sailing directions of the Black Sea. During the battles in the Great Patriotic War the temple was destroyed, but the belfry remained intact. It is a historical and architectural monument. There is an observation ground near the belfry from which a magnificent view of the city is revealed.
