Saint George Rock The coastal aquatic complexes of the Southern Coast were declared the natural monuments, being the subject to protection, in 1972. Out of 20 of such unique sea complexes, on the Southern Coast they are situated: by Cape Fiolent (Balaklava), Capes Laspi-Sarytch (Sevastopol), Cape Ay-Todor (Gaspra, health centers "Pearl" and "Dniepr"), at the mountain Ayu-Dag (Partenit), by Cape Plaka (Partenit), At village Solnechnogorskoye (Malorechenka), by Cape Karaul-Oba (Novy Svet), At Novy Svet (Sudak, Novy Svet).
The aquatic complexes are the standards of the landscape, illustrating the interaction of the sea and the dryland under various conditions. They serve as the places of concentration of peculiar biocenosis providing the refining of polluted coastal waters and also as places of spawning of valuable sorts of fish. At last, it is large amount of pure sea water, the objects of scientific researches.
