Winter hiking in the Carpathians

🗓 2017-11-22 · ↻ updated 2018-12-18

We invite you to winter hikes in the Carpathians. There are both routes with tents and hikes designed for accommodation in various kinds of houses and shelters. These are such classic winter hikes as climbing Hoverla and hiking Pop Ivan Chernogorsky (White Elephant Observatory). Here is the schedule of planned trips this winter season.

If the specified dates do not suit you or you need a different route, write to us and we will try to organize a custom trip for you (with an individual guide). The cost of such a service will depend on the number of participants and the complexity of the route.

In fact, there are a lot of options for winter hiking in the Carpathians. You can climb the same Hoverla in winter in three different formats

  • one-day excursion - even for participants without hiking experience
  • real trek for 3-5 days - heavy backpacks, overnight stays in tents, full extreme sports
  • radial outings from the shelter - warm overnight stay, light backpacks, large kilometers

Winter hiking requires a special careful approach to the choice of clothing and equipment. Read our recommendations and feel free to ask questions.

To better imagine what awaits you on winter hikes, watch videos from our past extreme outings. The first video was filmed during a hike along the Montenegrin ridge (from Pop Ivan to Goverla).

And this is a video from a trip to Gorgany (from Osmoloda to Bystritsa via Mount Syvulya, the Peklo tract and the Tavpishirka ridge).

If you decide to join one of our planned hikes, simply click the "I want" button and fill out a short form. We will contact you and tell you what to do next.
