Just half an hour’s walk from our camp (and the dreary desert in which it was hidden) was the grand canyon Markarfljótsgljúfur. We knew about the existence of the canyon before, but the fact that it was so big and beautiful was a complete surprise. Photographing endless panoramas slowed progress so much that only an extremely long Arctic day saved us from having dinner by flashlights. However, only the most experienced tourists could think about food in such a magical place)) #iceland
