On the way back from Pokhara to Kathmandu we stopped in Chitwan. Three participants in the hike had an extra day before flying home and wanted to see the reserve. The rest couldn’t stay, but of course we carved out half an hour for a quick inspection. And you know - I realized that in order to capture the spirit of Chitwan, this is quite enough. We managed to lie in a hammock in the green garden on the hotel grounds, walked to the river and met a crocodile right on the central beach, saw the emerging sunset over the jungle and felt an elephant softly and silently walk past us along the main street of the village of Saurakha. #Nepal
