The peak of Annapurna 1 (did you know that there are 5 Annapurnas?) does not look too impressive, at least in comparison with such beauties as Machapuchare or Ama Dablam. But the vertical walls of Annapurna are truly beautiful. Their relief buttresses, couloirs and other unpronounceable elements deserve thoughtful meditative contemplation.
