Not reaching the village of Deurali a couple of hundred meters, we crossed the first avalanche blowout. This was still in the green zone, i.e. you are walking among green grass and bamboo thickets and suddenly a white snowy river 50 meters wide runs across the path. The first avalanche made us wary - given the recent snowfalls, every couloir or stream bed could suddenly become a source of mortal danger.
