This is not the first time in our practice that trekking to Annapurna Base Camp started with rain. It immediately became clear, of course, that not everyone in the group had raincoats. The participants bought the missing sleeping bags and trekking poles in Kathmandu, but they forgot about protection from the rain. To get out of the situation, large plastic bags were purchased from a nearby lodge. It is enough to cut such a bag along the long side to get a quite decent raincoat covering a person along with a backpack. The idea spread to the masses and even some participants bought improvised Nepalese raincoats with waterproof jackets and covers on their backpacks.
