Trekking “Lycian Way” Türkiye, May 2013.

The trip was a success. OutdoorUkraine showed itself to be a good organizer and coordinator. So, if you wish, you can and should use their services. I concluded for myself that a rug (karemat) forgotten at home is equivalent in importance to a tent and sleeping bag. So I once again express my gratitude to all the participants in the hike for providing me with “seats”, which I used instead of a rug. )))

One February evening, I realized that in the spring I wanted to go on a hike, and specifically to Turkey. The choice fell on the company OutdoorUkraine. I have been familiar with their website for a long time, but I was not able to use their services last year, since tickets for May were sold out long ago. This time I decided to act in advance and immediately bought air tickets to Antalya and booked a place in the group. Round-trip tickets to Wizz Air cost only ~$250.

Upon arrival, we checked into the Sun Rise Hotel hostel. The rooms are modest, the cost is ~21 euros per room and includes an equally modest breakfast. )) However, all this is compensated by the view that opens from the roof of the hostel. The roof also serves as a dining room!) By the way, OutdoorUkraine did a good job of organizing the selection of hostels and the trip plan itself. No one would want to overpay for “glamour,” especially since that’s not what they came here for.

4. Our guide Alexander. I always knew where we were going, but I didn’t always say how long it would take to get there -))). He set an incredible pace for the group, for which he received the nickname “Saiga”.

And then the hike itself - without chronology and long comments, just photos.

I think this is our first dinner. The first porridge with stewed meat, and how many more are to come))

11. Tourists in the fog.

In my opinion, the second day turned out to be the most difficult. Firstly, it rained almost all day, and secondly, the terrain was difficult and there were narrow mountain paths. It’s good that in the evening we managed to light a fire and dry our things.

Let's move on..

Another parking lot. The weather is getting better.

Hunting for lunch -)

Meanwhile, the weather is getting better!

We approach the next parking lot at the foot of Mount Takhtali.

This time the parking lot was a five-star shepherd's house!

There was a fireplace here!

The conditions made it possible to treat wounds in comfort :)

Epic assault on Mount Takhtali.

4 especially gifted tourists, having separated from the group, woke up at 02.30 at night in order to be in time for breakfast at the restaurant on the mountain before everyone else. We climbed for an hour in the dark and with flashlights. Then another hour in the morning twilight. And as a bonus - a closed restaurant, heavy winds, snow and rain at the top. In general, everyone was happy))

We had to go back down to the valley and wait for the rest of the group to go up and down.

A little later that same day. It was then that we covered the longest distance - 21 km. Although, on average, we walked 10-12 km per day.

“Burned out” on a hike.

Next, the hike was almost over and relaxation by the sea began. The village of Chyraly is a quiet place with a wide beach, without large hotels or discos. An ideal place for a family holiday for tourists coming down from the mountains))

Summary: The hike was a success. OutdoorUkraine showed itself to be a good organizer and coordinator. So, if you wish, you can and should use their services. I concluded for myself that a rug (karemat) forgotten at home is equivalent in importance to a tent and sleeping bag. So I once again express my gratitude to all the participants in the hike for providing me with “seats”, which I used instead of a rug. )))
