Winter hikes for New Year and Christmas

Oddly enough, New Year 2016 is coming soon, and preparations for it must begin right now. For example, you can sign up for a winter hike in the Carpathians. Or you can spend the New Year holidays on a warmer and more comfortable hike in Turkey
Winter hiking is an excellent preparation for the “big” mountains. If you want to become your own person among the glaciers of the Caucasus, Pamir or Himalayas, then you can start with something simple and close - the winter Carpathians. They are simple only in the sense that there is plenty of oxygen here, and you can move without crampons and ropes.
But the weather in these low mountains can be very harsh. And it is precisely for the sake of getting to know it, in order to stop being afraid of just the phrase “sleeping in the snow”, in order to test your strength and equipment, you need to go on winter hikes in the relatively safe Carpathians.
If you don’t have experience with such hikes yet, don’t worry - we will help you choose the right clothing and equipment. And to make it easier to make a final decision, read how we go in winter again, and read the list of medical contraindications for participation in winter hikes.
Perhaps, after studying all the materials, you will come to the conclusion that it is still “too early” for you to go on winter hikes (you don’t have enough experience, and you don’t want to freeze). In this case, pay attention to winter trek in Turkey, there in January it is +15 during the day and +5 at night.
