Beech grove at Ai-PetriBeech grove with adjoining area of karst jaila is a natural monument (1947) near jags of Ai-Petri. The largest on Crimean jaila area of beech-hornbeam forest spreaded on the plateau as if caught at the picturesque rocks. Mighty trees which are up to 10-15 metres in height and 1.5 metres in diameter make up rare picture even for almost forestless mountain plateau. Near the very edge of yaila mount pear and a pine - "the plane" grow.

The age of the later (about 300 years old) and its original flag-shaped top made it the unique natural monument (1964).

A couple of the old-aged specimens of yew growing on the margin of the forest to the north-east of Ai-Petri jags are of exceptional interest. The age of the oldest of them is over 1000 years old.

This yew is older than Moscow, it is alive contemporary of Kiev prince Vladimir's campaign in Crimea (988) and Tmutarakan principality!

The monument tree is about 12 metres in height, its crown was pretty well battered by winds, its centuries-old trunk covered with lichen. But its dark-green needles are still shining as they were "in youth". Yew-coniferous is relic of Crimea - past and gone this species was widely-spread in the mountain forests, but now is entered in the "Red book"
