Mangup-Kale mountain

It is the mountain-relic, the medieval fortress - the capital of principality Feodoro, the monument of nature of national importance since 1964.
It is situated near village Zalyesnoye of Bakhtchisaray region.
The height above the sea level of this rocky massif is 581 meters.
It is obvious, that to seize this natural, protected by high walls and fighting towers fortress, was not an easy thing.
In 40-70 metres high precipices of Mangup, more than 80 grottoes and roofs, a few caves are known. The plateau-like top of Mangup protrudes to the north by its 4 original capes.
Majestic, picturesque landscape, revealed from each of the capes, divided by deep ravines, overgrow with forest.
From the foot of the mountain, along its sides, goes up the forest: here prevail downy oak-tree, hornbeam, wild rose, ivy grows here in abundance.
